We began our involvement with Lesbians Who Tech in February 2016 when we sent a team of eight employees; engineers, managers, recruiters, and members of our outTSigma community to the Lesbians Who Tech San Francisco Summit. Impressed by the caliber and high level of technical expertise from attendees, we were keen to support the organization.
This September we welcomed (and had the pleasure of sponsoring) Lesbians Who Tech in New York for the LWT + Allies NY Summit. In addition sending a number of our employees to participate, our Head of Collaboration and Usability Engineering, Ali Heron, gave a talk about “Building Products People Love.” True to Two Sigma, she discussed how to apply the scientific method to develop good ideas that solve customer needs.
Outside of the formal program, we connected with the talent in attendance both outside of the sessions and in an event hosted at our headquarters. Attendees had the chance to network with our employees, enjoy the space, try out our new VR experience, and learn our arduino blinky lab for new employees.
